The following is a listing of the Boards and Commissions that serve in Santa Clara County. Most of the members of these Boards and Commissions are appointed by the Board of Supervisors and serve at their discretion. All meetings are open to the public.

Advisory Commission for Persons with Disabilities	Vacant
Appointee shall be selected from a list of three nominees submitted by the Commission. Appointment is for an allocated 4-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008 and will expire on June 30, 2012. (Vacant position formerly held by Tracy A. Jacobs.)
Advisory Commission on Consumer Affairs	Expired
Appointee shall represent the public at large. Appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008 and will expire on June 30, 2011. (Incumbent William Ferguson is eligible for reappointment.)
Advisory Council to the Council on Aging	Vacant
Appointee shall be 60 years of age or older. Appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2007 and will expire on June 30, 2010. (Vacant position formerly held by Joseph Perez.)
Child Abuse Council	Vacant
Nominee shall represent the Justice Agencies. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 4-year term which commenced on July 1, 2006. Authority to appoint will remain with District 2 until term expiration on June 30, 2010. (Vacant position previously held by Judge John F. Herlihy.)

Commission on the Status of Women	Vacant
Appointee shall represent the public at large. Appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008 and will expire on June 30, 2011. (Vacant position formerly held by Naomi Nakano-Matsumoto.)
Council on Equal Employment Opportunities	Vacant
Appointee shall represent the community at large for women. Appointment is for a rotating 4-year term which commenced on July 1, 2006. Authority to appoint will remain with District 2 until term expiration on June 30, 2010. (Vacant position formerly held by Lata Patil.)
Domestic Violence Council	Vacant
Appointee shall represent the San Jose Police Department. Appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008. Authority to appoint will remain with District 2 until term expiration on June 30, 2011. (Vacant position formerly held by Russell H. Bence.)
Domestic Violence Council	Expired
Appointee shall represent the Victim Witness Assistance. Appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008. Authority to appoint will remain with District 2 until term expiration on June 30, 2011. (Incumbent Margaret Joseph-Petros is eligible for reappointment.)
Domestic Violence Council	Vacant
Appointee shall represent the Santa Clara County Office of the Public Defender. Appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2006. Authority to appoint will remain with District 2 until term expiration on June 30, 2009. (Vacant position formerly held by J.J. Kapp.)
Guadalupe Flood Control and Watershed (Central Zone)	Vacant
Nominee shall reside within the zone they represent. Nomination for an alternate for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for an allocated 1-year term which commenced on January 1, 2008 and will expire on December 31, 2008. (Vacant position formerly held by Gloria Spanier.)
Guadalupe Flood Control and Watershed (Central Zone)	Vacant
Nominee shall reside within the zone they represent. Nomination for a representative for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for an allocated 1-year term which commenced on January 1, 2008 and will expire on December 31, 2008. (Vacant position formerly held by Dick Jarvis.)
Health Advisory Commission	Vacant
Appointee shall be a representative from a health-based community organization. Appointment is for a rotating 4-year term which commenced on July 1, 2005. Authority to appoint will remain with District 2 until term expiration on June 30, 2009. (Vacant position formerly held by David Lees.)
HIV Health Services Planning Council	Vacant
Appointee shall be a representative of a mental health provider. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 2-year term which commenced on January 1, 2007. Authority to appoint will remain with District 2 until term expiration on December 31, 2009.
Housing and Community Development Advisory Committee	Expired
Appointee shall represent low-income members, residents of target neighborhoods or minorities. Appointment is for an allocated 1-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008 and will expire on June 30, 2009. (Incumbent Andrea Flores-Shelton is eligible for reappointment.)
Housing Authority Board of Directors	Expired
Appointee must be a Project tenant more than 62 years of age. Appointment is for a rotating 2-year term which commenced on May 1, 2008. Authority to appoint will remain with District 2 until term expiration on April 30, 2010. (Incumbent Verna Ann Hayden is eligible for reappointment.)
Human Relations Commission	Vacant
Nominee shall represent the public at large. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for an allocated 4-year term which commenced on July 1, 2006 and will expire on June 30 , 2010. (Vacant position formerly held by Danielle Castro.)
Juvenile Hall Advisory Board	Vacant
Nominee shall be a health professional with expertise in the area of child psychiatry and nominated by the Santa Clara Valley Health and Hospital System-Chief Executive Officer. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2007 and will expire on June 30, 2010. (Vacant position formerly held by Richard T. Nunes.)
Juvenile Hall Advisory Board	Expired
Nominee shall be a parent of a juvenile who was or is incarcerated at Juvenile Hall. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008 and will expire on June 30, 2011. (Incumbent Blanca Bosquez is eligible for reappointment.)
Mental Health Board	Vacant
Nominee shall be a consumer of mental health services. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2006 and will expire on June 30, 2009. (Vacant position formerly held by Laura Barreras.)
